Planet Arda 10,000,000 Years Ago
10 million years ago, the planet had extreme climates. The poles were very cold while the rest of planet was warm. This causes most of the animals and organisms to live toward the equator. The planet is about 11 degrees Celsius on average. Most of the animals live toward the equator because the poles are too cold to live in and also all the water near there are frozen, causing no available fresh water.
The Alligator Snapping Turtle would live in the sea's such as the Inner Sea, and East Sea. They would most likely live here due to the rapidly changing environment of the planet. Because the planet's poles are frozen, they are forced to live near the equator, and so does other animals. During the cold, the Snapping Turtles could use this factor to find food. Because all the organisms move toward the warm, the Alligator turtle would have an easy time finding food because they live close to the equator.

9 Million Years Ago-
Planet Arda becomes warmer and many ice sheets begin to melt. There are an increase in the water level and also in tectonic plates making more mountains and lands. Because the mountains were created, it contributed to the global warming. 8 Million Years Ago- Global warming continues to increase and the water level increases as well. The average temperature on the planet was 14 degrees Celsius and the water level is around 100 feet. |
6 Million Years Ago- The average surface temperatures of the planet becomes 16 degrees Celsius and the ocean currents start to change directions. These changes led to the location of the Alligator Turtles because they a large amount of their life in the sea, and need to find where fresh water is.

Overtime, the ice melted and so many organisms can live in more variety of places. One example is the Alligator Snapping turtle, which can now move to rivers and lakes up north and down south without the worry of it freezing. The temperature on Arda is about 20 degrees Celsius which allows different animals to move around and hunt different preys. Also, life expectancy increased because the organisms do not have to deal with harsh environments. The biomes mostly stayed the same, however the deserts became smaller due the planet getting warmer.
The Alligator Snapping Turtle would still live in seas after the ice has melt, but they have more land available to them. They can now live in the upper part of the Inner sea since they don't have to worry about the freezing temperatures. Though this is positive, they have a harder time finding food because other organisms are allowed to move around without the freezing ice. Most of the sea from before has disappeared, so this limits the location of where the turtles could be. Unlike before, there is no East Sea, meaning most of the population of the turtles are forced to move into the Inner sea.
