The Alligator snapping turtles have different adaptions. For one example, their shell is different from other turtles. Their shell is made of spikes which keeps predators away and them safe. This and also their jaw and neck. They have a short neck which can be protected by the shell. Their strong jaw allows them to have a wide range of food which means they have a less chance of dying off.
These turtles tend to stay underwater for most of the day and go out during the night. This makes it hard and dangerous to look for them because there is little light. The turtles sit there and blend in with the ocean floor. While they sit there, fishes pass by which then triggers the Alligators snapping turtle's sensitivity helping the turtle catch its's pray.
